The Canadian Celtic Choir

The CANADIAN CELTIC CHOIR has provided the city of London and surrounding communities with high quality choral music for more than 21 years and has built a solid reputation as one of the most in demand choirs in this area. The CCC has been conducted by William “Bill” Zadorsky and accompanied by Jean Willadsen on piano since 2010. The Choir won ‘Best Classical Vocal Group’ at the London Music Awards in both 2008, 2009, and 2010. In 2010 the CCC was inducted into the London Music Awards Hall of Fame. In 2012 we were nominated for the ‘Most Popular Classical Choir’ at the 2012 Jack Richardson Music Awards and won the award in 2015. In March 2007, the Canadian Celtic Choir was the first choral group to be selected from outside of the Ottawa area to sing at a National Ceremony of Remembrance and was honoured to sing at the 90th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge Service at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. The CCC has opened for the Men of The Deeps, The Irish Descendants, John McDermott, Lighthouse, and John Tesh and were featured several times in Orchestra London’s Jeans ‘n’ Classics Series. In March 2008, the Choir travelled to Maui, Hawaii - our first international tour. In July 2014, the CCC toured Scotland and England for 10 days singing in historic venues such as Stirling Castle, St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh and the Church of the Holy Trinity, Stratford-upon-Avon. In June 2017, the Choir toured the Canadian Maritimes for 12 days with stops in Moncton, Norton, Halifax (including singing for the Citizenship Ceremony on Pier 21 on Canada Day), Sydney Mines and Cornwall (near Charlottetown). In July 2020, the CCC is looking forward to going on its first tour to Ireland.

For this concert, the choir will be joined by Canadian & US National Fiddle Champion SHANE COOK and Guitarist & 5-time Canadian Open Step Dance Champion KYLE WAYMOUTH.

SHANE COOK is a Canadian and US National fiddle champion. Noted by The Canadian Fiddlers’ Hall of Fame as one of the “finest fiddlers in the world today,” Shane has distinguished himself as a master of the Canadian old-time fiddle tradition. He also excels at styles ranging from Irish and Scottish to French-Canadian and Bluegrass. After a concert at The Opera House in Boston, the Boston Herald proclaimed, “Shane Cook’s Celtic fiddling was enough to break hearts.” More at www.shanecook.com

KYLE WAYMOUTH is a multi-instrumentalist and a premier Ottawa-Valley style step dancer. Kyle is a five-time Canadian Open Step Dance Champion, four-time Canadian Open Group Step Dancing Champion with his group Powerhouse, and a Canadian Open Clogging Champion. At age three, Kyle started step dancing at his mother’s dance studio, Judy’s School of Dance in Stratford, ON.
